Visitors should be prepared for the pleasures of a journey “back in time”. Bhutan’s landscapes are pristine and its traditional cultures fascinating. Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, lies in a beautiful wooded valley, sprawling up a hillside on the banks of a river, and is the only world capital without traffic lights. All Bhutanese art, dance, drama and music is steeped in Buddhism and represent a struggle between good and evil.
